His will is recorded in book E, Vol. I, p 316, Lancaster, Pa, (died) 10-19-1785, (probated) 2-13-1786. His name was spelled Kneissley by a clerk as he used his mark when signing his will. George took out a warrant for 150 acres 10-26-1746. Named on list as George Neisley, PA. 3rd. Ser. Vol, XXIV, p, 493, As there was no George among the early Nissley families in Lancaster County, this is taken to mean George Kneisly who lived and died in Hempfield Twp. From:

History of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, with Biographical Sketches of Many of its Pioneers and Prominent Men Chapter LVII. East Hempfield Township by Samuel Evans, Esq.:

Kneisley's mills were built by George Kneisley, at the head of Kauffman's Run, about half a mile north of the Paxton and Lancaster road, prior to the Revolution. They consisted of a grist-, hemp-, and saw-mill. The property is now owned by C. N. Nolt. The water which drives this mill comes from a spring a few hundred yards above, and is one of the finest in the county, but steam-power has been added.
