Sex: Male.

Henry Scott was a miller, a trade he tought his son. He operated a mill in Constantia, Oswego County, New York, appearing as such in the censuses of 1840 and 1850. In the 1850 census his real property has a value of $1500. By 1860 he was age 75. He had evidently sold his assets in Constantia, for he appears in Watertown, Oneida County, New York, with no real property, assets of $150, but still listed as working as a miller. His daughter Irene, and son Henry Duane were still living with him, although his wife had evidently died by then.
Prior to 1850, when the census only lists the name of the head of household and age ranges of the others, the following are the best likely records of Henry's family and movements. There was a Benjamin Scott who lived in Constantia and appears in the censuses there in 1810, 1820, and 1830. But the ages of the other members of the household do not match Henry and his wife.
Probably correct Henry Scotts (based on ages of the households, and the other Henry Scotts in New York being ruled out by either the age patters of the household members, or being Henry Scotts in other towns at the same time Henry Scott was in Constantia in 1850 and 1840). It is interesting to note that there is no boy corresponding to Henry Duane in the 1840 and 1830 census. This raises the possibility that he was raised by other relatives, an adopted son from a second wife,or even not a son but a nephew (related to the Benjamin Scott of Constantia?):
1850 Constantia, Oswego: 1 male 65; 1 female 55; 1 female 21; 1 male 16
1840 Constantia, Oswego: 1 male, 50-60; 1 female 50-60; 1 female 10-15; 1 female 15-20; 1 female 20-30 (female 50 to 60 - evidently the enumerator left a decade off his wife's age, since earlier and later censuses are consistent. The son isn't listed - perhaps he is working elsewhere?)
1830 Verona, Oneida: 1 male 40-50; 2 females under 5; 2 females 5 to 10; 1 female 10-15; 1 female 30 to 40 = closer match to 1840!
1820 Stephentown,Rensselaer: 1 male 26 to 40; 1 female 16 to 26; 1 boy below 10; 1 girl below 10
1810 Lumberland, Sullivan: 1 male age 26 to 44 (possible) Otherwise lose trace - probably with father.
