In 1851 census he is a farmerm working Curls Farm, with 126 acres and two laborers, in Stowey, Somerset, England.
He does not appear in the 1861 census, although his son does, who has the Kerls Farm 130 acres. Henry must have passed on and his eldest son received the farm. His second son, Samuel, emigrated to America. Third son, John, stayed in Somerset as a farmer.
The line cannot be traced with certainty past Henry yet. There are numerous Riches in the area of Somerset south of Bristol for centuries earlier. Some typical marriage records:
