From Attleboro Sun, Tuesday, 26 December 1972: Obituaries: Rose A. Antaya Attleboro - Miss Rose A. Antaya of 12 Spring street., died today after a long illness. Born in Attleboro Falls, she was a daughter of the late John B. and Mary Louise (Pellisey) Antaya. Survivors are two borthers Albert M. Antaya of Ware and Adrian Antaya of Attleboro; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Heger and Mrs. Aurora Greene, both of Attleboro, and several nieces and nephews. Miss Antaya was the first student nurse and first graduate of the nursing school of Sayles Memorial Hospital, now Pawtucket Memorial. She practiced as a private nurse before enlisting in the Red Cross Army Nurse Corps in World War I. Following discharge in 1918, she began her long career as an industrial nurse employed with the Loraine Mills in Pawtucket. She was a communicant of the St, Joseph Church. The Furneral will be held Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from the Stephen H. Foley Funeral Home, 126 South Main St., followed by a concelebrated Funeral mass in St. Joseph's Church. Burial and commital service will be at the family lot in St. Stephen's Cemetery.
