Mother of the Cid, wife of Diego Laynez, daughter of Don Rodrigo Alvarez, Count and Governor of Asturias.
Her marriage into the Fainez clan from the ancient Ordonez family of Asturias provided some needed protection to the Cid as a child, despite her husband's likely involvement in an uprising against King Ferrando. It also ensure that the Cid would received schooling in Ferrando's court.
