Modern Name: Roa de Duero.

Ancient town 84 km from Burgos, on the old Roman road between Clunia and Astorga, in the Cid's time leading from Penafiel to Arrueco.

The town is located where the Duero splits into the rivers Ribera and Riaza. Celto-iberians, Romans, and Arabs all occupied and left their mark on the town. Latitude: 41.69593. Longitude: -3.92664.
