Cid's Spain

Moorish capital founded by Aderrahman II in 831, called the Orchard of Europe after Arab irrigation techniques using the Segura river made the desert bloom. The city walls, built by the Moors, evoke the Cid's time.

The main buildings of the charming old town date from the 13th to 17th Centuries. The former kingdom is now an autonomous community of Spain. The community of Murcia has an area 11,317 square kilometers. Estimated population in AD 1100, 120 thousand and population density 10.6 per square km. The city is located at: Latitude: 37.98. Longitude: -1.13.
